Empowering Youth for Positive Change
Youth for Peace in the Mediterranean Sea – Tunisia Workshops
Over the past few days, Tunisia has become a vibrant hub of creativity, learning, and collaboration as we brought together a group of bright, passionate young individuals for the Youth for Peace in the Mediterranean Sea project. These workshops were designed not just as sessions, but as dynamic spaces for dialogue, discovery, and action – and they did not disappoint.
At the heart of the experience was a shared goal: empowering youth to become active changemakers in their communities and beyond. Through a series of non-formal educational activities, participants explored key topics like nonviolent conflict resolution, cultural understanding, environmental sustainability, and inclusive dialogue.
Participants didn’t just sit and listen – they engaged. Whether it was through group discussions, role-playing exercises, creative workshops, or collaborative problem-solving tasks, young people were encouraged to speak up, think critically, and co-create solutions.
Every voice mattered, and every idea was valued.
One of the highlights was how environmental awareness was woven into the discussions. Young leaders reflected on the challenges facing the Mediterranean region, from climate change to resource preservation, and brainstormed ways they could make a real impact at the local level.
The workshops also celebrated cultural exchange and diversity. Participants came together from different backgrounds, sharing stories, traditions, and perspectives. This spirit of openness and mutual respect enriched the dialogue and reminded us of the strength of unity.
Facilitators played a key role not as lecturers, but as guides and collaborators. They worked side-by-side with the participants, offering tools and insights, while also learning from the fresh perspectives and enthusiasm the youth brought to the table.
As the workshops wrapped up, one thing was clear: the young people we worked with are more than ready to shape a better future. With their creativity, empathy, and determination, they are planting seeds of peace, inclusion, and sustainability across the Mediterranean – and we can’t wait to see how far they grow.
