Evaluation and Validation Meeting ; 20–25 May 2025,Sousse, Tunisia

The WP2 Evaluation and Validation Meeting of the Youth for Peace in the Mediterranean Sea project took place in Sousse, Tunisia, from 20th to 25th May 2025. The event gathered representatives from eight Mediterranean countries, creating a strong environment for exchange and improvement.

Meeting Participants

This meeting welcomed teams from Spain, France, Italy, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Morocco. Every organisation sent project managers, youth workers, and coordinators who are actively involved in supporting youth development and peacebuilding in their countries.

Purpose of the Meeting

The main goal was to review, assess, and validate the educational tools and workshops used throughout the project. The group focused on making these resources more practical and better suited to the needs of young people in the region.

Major Outcomes

1‑Thorough Review of Tools:
Each team presented their educational activities. Partners analysed and discussed the objectives, content, and methodology of every tool, aiming to simplify the structure, clarify instructions, and make sure each tool could be used effectively in local contexts.

2‑Clear Adjustments:
The group agreed to remove unnecessary complexity, define specific target groups, and ensure that every learning objective is relevant and realistic. Tools with overlapping content were combined or improved for stronger results.

3‑Community Engagement:
Participants visited a local youth club in Sousse, where they observed different activities such as sports, dance, and media production. This visit offered direct contact with the daily life and interests of Tunisian youth, helping the team shape more meaningful project content.

4‑Coordination and Deadlines:
The meeting included sessions on project management, communication, reporting, and the translation of materials. All partners confirmed deadlines for submitting reports and updated timelines for future tasks.

Decisions and Actions

1‑Simplify educational tools and reduce the number of learning objectives

2‑Translate manuals and project materials into local languages

3‑Strengthen reporting and evidence collection for every activity

4‑Share new content and project updates with wider audiences

The meeting in Sousse marked an important step for the project. Partners finished the week with a united direction, realistic plans, and a stronger commitment to supporting peace and cooperation among Mediterranean youth. The knowledge and decisions gained during this meeting will guide the next phases of Youth for Peace in the Mediterranean Sea.
