Stakeholder Meeting: Reflections on the Three Winning Videos (France)
On 3 October 2025, DITEP/SESSAD Les Bastides in Marseille hosted a stakeholder meeting dedicated to presenting and discussing the three winning videos of the project’s youth video contest. The session brought together a teacher, a social worker, and a social-work intern, all eager to explore how young people understand peace, empathy, and social responsibility.
From the first minutes, the atmosphere felt warm and thoughtful. The participants reacted with strong interest, and at several moments, the videos sparked emotional responses. Each film showed a different path toward peace: listening, creativity, and humanitarian action. Together, they offered a rich and inspiring view of how young people imagine a more human and caring world.
1. “The Art of Listening” – A Message for Youth
The first video, inspired by a popular social-media trend, contrasts two situations: one marked by indifference, and another guided by empathy. The group appreciated how the narrative speaks directly to young people. It shows how a simple act listening can change someone’s day, and sometimes even their life. The participants described the format as dynamic, relatable, and highly effective for raising awareness about emotional support.
2. Art as a Path to Peace
The second video follows a group of students who spent several months preparing an art exhibition on the culture of peace. Paintings, poems, photographs, music, and portraits of peace figures fill the story. Stakeholders called it “poetic” and “educational,” noting how well it demonstrates that peace is not only a political goal but also the result of small actions, creativity, and human connection. The video reminds viewers that peace grows when young people express themselves freely and work together.
3. SOS Méditerranée – Humanity at Sea
The third video highlights the work of SOS Méditerranée and its vessel, Ocean Viking. Through powerful images and strong narration, it presents the reality of rescue missions in the Mediterranean. The stakeholders described it as emotional and deeply impactful. It connects art, civic engagement, and human rights in a way that stays with the viewer long after the video ends.
General Feedback
The three videos received strong praise for their creativity, maturity, and relevance to the project goals. The participants felt that all three films show how young people can take action, inspire others, and raise important questions about the world around them.
They also expressed interest in using the videos during future youth activities. The films can help open discussions about peace, solidarity, and empathy topics that matter more than ever today.
