Youth for Peace: Inspiring a More Inclusive Mediterranean
The Youth for Peace in the Mediterranean Sea (YxP) video contest, “United for a More Peaceful and Inclusive Mediterranean,” has opened a platform for young people across the region to share their voices, their dreams, and their vision of peace.
Open to creative minds aged 18 to 30, the contest invited participants to capture, in just one minute, what peace and inclusion mean in their lives. Submissions poured in from across the Mediterranean, reflecting diverse cultures, experiences, and perspectives. An jury selected three finalists, whose videos were then shared with the public for voting, giving communities a chance to engage directly in celebrating youth creativity. The winner will present their story at the Youth for Peace conference in Rabat, Morocco, in 26–29 October 2025.
Yet the true impact of the contest goes far beyond the prizes. It has given young people a space to connect across borders, challenge stereotypes, and amplify their voices in shaping a more inclusive society. Each video became a small beacon of hope, demonstrating that even a one-minute story can spark dialogue, inspire empathy, and encourage collaboration.
Through this project, participants have learned that peace is not just an idea,it is a shared responsibility, built by listening, understanding, and creating together. By expressing themselves through creativity, young people are not only telling stories; they are building bridges, inspiring communities, and showing that positive change is possible when youth lead with imagination and compassion.
The Youth for Peace initiative reminds us that the Mediterranean can be a space of connection rather than division, and that every young voice has the power to shape a future filled with empathy, understanding, and hope.
